Explore Hua Hin & Khao Takiab

Having grown from a small rural fishing village to a favourite vacation spot for Bangkokians and international holidaymakers, Hua Hin still remains a relatively small holiday town. It is possible to explore the centre of town by foot, as most shops and restaurants are concentrated along a short, walkable stretch. Shoppers will find ample opportunities to shop and browse.

Those looking to dine or unwind will doubtless find the perfect spot while surveying the town’s innumerable restaurants, food stands, cafes, and bars. For visitors with wider recreational interests (whether cultural, geographical, culinary, or athletic), the area offers a wide range of attractions and activities:

Khao Takiab Beach

Khao Takiab is a mountain with two parallel lines and beautiful rocks stretching out to the sea. This is called Khao Takiab, which is a continuation of Hua Hin beach. And the foothills of the northern mountain are enshrined. Big Buddha statue facing the sea. The southern part of Takiab beach is connected to Suan Son Pradipat beach. The atmosphere is quiet and private. At the top of the hill is the location of Wat Khao Takiab, which is enshrined. And a spot for a beautiful sea view of Hua Hin.

Cicada Weekend Market

The Cicada Market is one of the most famous and popular night markets in Hua Hin. It is located on the outskirts of the centre on the road to Khao Takiab and is only held on weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) from 4.00 pm – 11.00 pm..

Hua Hin Night Market

At first, this market sells food and cloth as same as other night markets. It occupied 100-300 meters area at the back of the market. Later, it was moved down to the street and space was managed. In 1997, the market was expanded and handled by the Municipality. For this reason, the number of shops increased, which most of them are snack shops, seafood, souvenirs, and cloth shops.

Hutsadin Elephant Foundation

The Hutsadin Foundation cares for elephants and gives them every opportunity to live a life that's full and pain-free. In order to achieve this, they depend on donations from local companies, and the general public. In addition to the generous donations received they also provide the opportunity to ride and feed the elephants for a small donation. Located in the forest just outside Hua Hin provides the perfect habitat for the elephants and as they continue to develop they can provide the perfect living environment.

Pa La-U Waterfall

Pa La-U Waterfall consists of Pa La-U Yai Waterfall and Pa La-U Noi Waterfall. There are 15 levels of the waterfall. From the 5th level upwards, the waterfalls are quite large. However, visitors can walk up to the 7th level waterfall, only at the higher levels are in the dense forest, which is difficult to access and Pah Lau is a forest in Kaeng Krachan National Park which is rich with forests and wildlife.

Hua Hin Hills Vineyard

Hua Hin Hills Vineyard is built on a former elephant corral, a sublime place where wild Asian elephants were domesticated. The terrain, comprising mostly of loamy-sand and slate, is conducive to the cultivation of grapes providing the seaside resort town of Hua Hin with its first boutique vineyard. Siam Winery started developing the site after successfully experimenting at the nearby Royal Research Station at Huay Sai in 2003. These grapes are now the main components of our Monsoon Valley Wines. Alone in 2008, we have received 4 medals at international wine competitions in Europe.

Phra Nakorn Khiri Historical Park

Phra Nakhon Khiri Historical Park is a summer palace built in the reign of King Rama V located in Mueang Phetchaburi

Huay Mongkol Temple

Wat Huay Mongkhon is a very popular temple with faithful Thai. It is known for its huge 12 meters high statue of Luang Pu Thuat one of the most revered monks in Thailand known to have performed miracles. The statue was built in 2004 on the occasion of the birthday of Queen Sirikit.

Hua Hin Railway Station

Hua Hin Railway Station is considered the most beautiful railway station in Thailand. Its unique feature is the King Rama VI Pavilion, a four-sided pavilion built during the reign of King Rama VI. Originally named the Sanam Chan Pavilion, it was located within the grounds of Sanam Chandra Palace in Nakhon Pathom. The pavilion was created for King Rama VI to stay and observe the annual tactical practices of the Scout and Volunteer Forces from across the country. After the end of his reign, the pavilion was dismantled and preserved by the State Railway of Thailand to honor his memory.

Maruekhathaiyawan Palace

The summer seaside palace often referred to as ''the palace of love and hope'' is located midway between Cha-am and Hua Hin. It was built in 1923 under the royal command of King Rama VI using golden teakwood from the demolished Hat Chao Samran Palace.

Koh Talu

Koh Talu is the natural richness island and one of the very few islands in Thai sea that turtles often come to lay their eggs and has the most complete fringing reef in the Gulf of Thailand. Diving points you can access easily as a walk from the beach

Pineapple Valley Golf Club

Pineapple Valley Golf Club Thailand Hua Hin opened in 2008 and has won numerous awards for both the course and the clubhouse. The natural feel of the course belies the challenge it offers. The caddies are very well trained and using a buggy is such a bonus at this course as it has GPS on-board, giving you every distance you could want on every hole. Its 15th par 3 hole is its signature hole, with gorgeous views over the ocean, a great spot to stop for a break. The clubhouse has excellent facilities, as well as a fantastic restaurant with equally fantastic views, and the famous Mulligans Pub, great for a couple of sundowners.

Black Mountain Golf Club

Opened in 2007. It is said to be the best course in the Asia Pacific region and has been voted the best in Thailand. In 2009 it held the Black Mountain Masters, which was won by Johan Edfors. This competition is now a yearly event. Not only is this a beautiful course, with fantastic views, but it's always in top condition. The facilities are superb - from the restaurant to the range. Another bonus is that they have a 9 hole par 3 course which is a lovely little tester, lots of water, but a joy to play.

Imperial Lake View

The Imperial Lake View Golf Club offers the first 36 hole Golf course in Hua Hin. The golf course was opened in 1993 and designed by Roger Packard. It is a favourite with both residents and visitors to the area and is situated slightly inland amongst small farms & pineapple plantations on a large parkland parcel. For many golfers, this is the most beautiful course in this region. The long par 3, 14th hole is particularly tricky and features a tee box on a small island and the green at another island 210 yards away. There are a number of easy par holes on offer making the course a balanced test of golf also for higher handicappers. Courses C & D are a challenge and were used for the Asian Tour Qualifying School in January 2014.

Majestic Creek Golf Club

Majestic Creek is a fabulous gem, lying in beautiful countryside, just 25 minutes outside Hua Hin. Recent renovations and re-laying of greens have transformed this sleeping giant into one of the best-golfing experiences in this renowned golfing area. They also offer stay-and-play deals as there is a complete resort there.

Palm Hills Golf Club

Palm Hills is the shortest course in Hua Hin, but great for any level of player. It is most probably, one of the easiest walks and there is plenty of refreshment stops to take on fluids or a little snack! The course was well designed by Max Wexler, to appeal to all lovers of a player.

The Royal Hua Hin Golf Course

This is the oldest course in Thailand, opened in 1924 and designed by a Scottish railway engineer no less. It is situated right in the heart of Hua Hin, close to the Station. Some of the caddies here have been working there since it opened, or so they tell you! Somehow, I don't really think that's possible, but it brings a smile to your face. It has a couple of par 3 holes where your shot needs to be fairly accurate, or it will all end in tears.

Seapines

Opened in September 2010, Sea Pines is a wonderful links course, situated just south of Hua Hin, right on the beach. It's actually one of the 2 army courses in the Prachuap Khiri Khan area. Again, this course is not to everyone's taste, as there is a lot of water, so a good supply of balls is essential!

Springfield Royal Country Club

Springfield is a fantastic Jack Nicklaus designed course which has been open since the early '90s. It has 27 beautiful holes. One of the great things about this course is that on pretty much every hole there is a drinks stop, which in the heat, is a godsend. Another nice touch is that you get a free, freshly ground coffee at the first hole. I have also found that this is a well-marshalled course, which means less waiting time if the course is busy.
